The Bloomsburg Hospital is a 78-bed community hospital that provides comprehensive acute inpatient and outpatient services. Inpatient services include a 20-bed adult psychiatric unit, specializing in a geriatric tract under the direction of a board-certified psychiatrist, and a support staff of highly-trained specialists dedicated to meeting the needs of those individuals identified as needing intensive mental and physical intervention in adapting and adjusting to the pressures encountered in every day life.
Medical and surgical services, an intensive coronary-care unit and the Birthing Center (which offers complete obstetric and gynecological services and a newborn nursery) are all part of the specialized services provided by the Bloomsburg Hospital.
The Mifflinville Family Practice at 305 E. Third Street, Mifflinville is located within the community to serve your family health-care needs, either by appointment or on a walk-in basis.
The Occupational Medicine Program, First Link, 425 E. First St., Suite 1, Medical Arts Building, provides individual testing, coordination of workers’ compensation services, and 24-hour drug and alcohol testing to area businesses and industries, streamlined to meet the needs of the industries and to assist them in complying with drug-free workplace policies.
The Bloomsburg Hospital has a collaborative association with Columbia-Montour Home Health Services, bringing services to the homes of residents of all ages by working directly with physicians, social work services and other agencies in the communities we serve.
Bloomsburg Hospital’s Bloomsburg Health Care Center, 211 E. First St., is a long-term care facility. The Center provides skilled, intermediate and acute care and rehabilitative services.
H.E.A.R.T.S., the Cardiac Rehabilitation program located in the Professional Building, meets the needs of local people recuperating from cardiac events or suffering from coronary disease by teaching the importance of lifestyle changes in their daily lives, including dietary and activity changes and management of life’s stresses.
